Tai Chi for Energy - 8 Lessons with Dr Lam
Duration: 5 Hours.

8 Virtual Lessons with Dr Lam (Scroll down to see the first free lesson)

We invite you to explore this unique program within the comfort of your home; Dr Lam will guide you, step-by-step, through each movement of Tai Chi for Energy. He will teach you the forms from different angles — with close ups, repetitions and diagrammed illustrations — while dividing each form into small sections so you can follow along with ease. Throughout the lessons, Dr Lam will explain the tai chi principles and how to use them to improve your tai chi.

At the end of the DVD, Dr Lam demonstrates the entire set with both front- and back-on views.

A New Revitalizing Program
This program is comprised of two different tai chi styles. Chen style is vigorous and complex, combining fast and slow movements with powerful spiral force. Sun style incorporates unique qigong (life energy) movements with agile stepping. These two seemingly contrasting styles have complementary internal energy.

Using his deep understanding of tai chi principles and over 30 years of teaching experience, Dr. Lam has carefully combined movements from Chen and Sun styles to produce a powerful synergy in Tai Chi for Energy. Thus, with regular practice and in a relatively short period of time, this program will help you acquire better health and wellness, internal energy, and ability to manage stress.

Other Suggestions

If you would like a gentle introduction to Tai Chi for Energy, the prequel Tai Chi for Rehabilitation can be done seated, standing or even lying down.  It is suitable for all ages and physical abilities.

Once you have worked through both programs, you can move onto the more challenging Tai Chi for Energy 2 which has more emphasis on Chen style.

    A popular routine

Posted by Chris Liddle on 24th Jun 2016

Tai Chi for energy is proving popular with my Tai Chi class, one student has bought her own copy. The pace of teaching is suitable for everybody at what ever level they want to practise Tai Chi.

    Clear and well paced

I found it easy to follow and was presented in small bite sized "chunks". I liked being able to follow Dr Lam and at the same time being able to see a group of others working on Tia Chi for energy.

Superb introduction to sun and chen styles for the beginner, with hints that there is no limit to the depths contained within the movements when performed with awareness and intention.

Better than hoped for! And I did expect a lot...

Posted by Eric Block on 22nd Feb 2013

I practice Tai Chi for over 10 years now exchanging it with some Qigong and meditation. Not overdone, but I spend a lot of time behind a computer and work a lot and started doing it to balance out better in daily life. Always getting filled up with energy and relaxed inside but looking for something new I came across the website from Dr. Lam and having ordered some DVD's I picked up the training for over two months now. Waiting to write a review until I had the lessons in ‘my system’ and could benefit from it most and tell truly about my likings or disliking’s. Of course everybody will have a little something that he/she would do different, but as many teachers there are just as many styles. One thing I'm certain of: If trained daily there will be no one without benefit regardless the 'level' you’re on. I enjoy it immensely! And it really gives an extra edge (or takes it off, depending on how you look at it). Have a nice time and hopefully enjoy it as much as I do.

    Easy to learn

Posted by Lori Hammerton Bermagui NSW on 24th Nov 2012

As a teacher of Tai Chi I am always impressed in the manner Dr Lam uses repetition to learn each move. I always try to emulate his classes in my own. I will be teaching my classes this form beginning in the new year. Thank you.

Appraisal of Tai Chi for Energy DVD

Posted by Nuala Perrin on 19th Oct 2012

Because the daily pace of life today can be so stressful especially for younger people, ' computers, a phone in each ear' etc., the latest of Dr Lam's DVDs would be a great asset to relax and calm, but revitalise the whole body and also the mind. Consisting of two contrasting styles Chen and Sun, they compliment each other, fast and slow of Chen, powerful with spiral force - sometimes complex moves - that young people would be attracted to.! This together with the agile steps and unique Qigong and inner energy of Sun, means that the combination of these two styles generates energy quickly. The Inspirational teaching of Dr Lam in this DVD (something we come to expect) is evident; teaching in small sections, adding the principles of Tai Chi into each lesson, dividing it into 8 lessons, plus close ups and diagrammed illustrations and teaching the moves from different angles with safety always in mind; makes it easy to learn. This really makes you feel that you are a participant in Dr Lam's class, and as if you are joining in with the other students. It is fun to learn and makes you feel at ease as all the students look as if they are really enjoying themselves.! The vibrant colours of the cover of the DVD looks the part; and would invite you to take a further look. The two young people look happy and relaxed on the cover, as they do when performing the moves on the DVD. In conclusion, I think that this New 'Tai Chi for Energy ' DVD achieves what it set out to do, to encourage people, especially the young, to exercise and learn Tai Chi, and continue to advance their Tai Chi and make it their life journey.
