Tai Chi for Arthritis (TCA)-12 lessons with Dr Lam - recommended by CDC (Scroll down to see the free first lesson)

In 1996, Dr Lam with a team of medical and tai chi experts created this safe and easy to learn program. Medical studies confirm Tai Chi for Arthritis relieves pain, reduces falls and improves quality of life, that is why the Arthritis organisations around the world advocate this program and the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (www.CDC.gov) recommends it for fall prevention.

What is special about this DVD is that you will feel as though you are participating in Dr Lam’s class. After a brief introduction of what Tai Chi for Arthritis is and how this DVD can benefit you, Dr Lam will teach you with step-by-step instructions, lead you to practice and explain the reason behind every move. At the conclusion of the DVD Dr Lam will demonstrate the set from both front and back views. The unique music was composed with the rhythm and energy especially for this program!

It presents the entire program including warm up and cool down in a user friendly format. Dr Lam incorporates the tai chi principles to enhance your understanding and enjoyment.

  1. For beginners 5 Star Review

Posted by on 20th Jul 2018

I recently did a pain management course and we had two sessions on Tai Chi. I fell in love with it. I have had to give up Zumba and Pilates. I have a stretching program at home and a stationary bike. But this I love. I put the dvd in and it actually helps the pain. Gentle soft movement. You can do it sitting in a chair, or standing. Easy to follow.
Disc 1 . warm up and session 1 - has a group of people. forward facing and one person sitting. Dr Lam has his back to you for some of the time.
    There is warm down also.
and interesting facts about Tai Chi.
I am waiting on a class to start in my area, but will still use my dvd at home.

  2. Prue Grace in Teaching Tai Chi 5 Star Review

Posted by on 9th Jul 2018

Dr Lam and his very inspiring colleagues and instructors have added to the formula of Dr Lam's vision to bring Tai Chi to the world: old or young, sick or well. Whatever condition you are in you can follow this DVD everything is explained.
Dr Lam is gentle, wise and patiently explains the steps by breaking them down and providing a very comprehensive program. I would highly recommend this DVD to anyone who may want to improve there health and especially if you suffer from any arthritic condition... It can only help and will give you something positive to practice :)
All the best and much health and healing, may Tai Chi improve your life as it has mine.

  3. explanatory help 5 Star Review

Posted by on 6th Mar 2018

This DVD is a wonderful back up and reinforcement of a course I am presently undertaking with U3A. I really like the way the doctor explains what we are doing and why. It's a huge help to me and I enjoy being able to follow the instructions at home and in my own time. It backs up what we do in class and I can follow it every day. I am about to turn 80 and until recently have been line dancing. However back problems have forced me to discontinue this exercise and I am happy that I have discovered Tai Chi as a softer and calmer form of enjoyment. Thank you Dr Lam.

  5. A Tai Chi Day is a Happy Day! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 30th Jan 2018

I truly enjoyed my Tai Chi For Arthritis DVD as it was clear, simple and easy to understand. Already I feel my daily practice is improving and can't wait to do the workshop to improve my skills.
I have found that reading my latest book "Teaching Tai Chi Effectively" is full of helpful informations and it is making me feel better equipped for that very first day when I start teaching.
I look forward to meeting Dr Lam and all the members at the workshop in July.
Everybody I have spoken to so far from the Tai Chi For Health Institute has been very helpful and friendly.
    Thank you,

  6. Thank you Dr Lam 5 Star Review

Posted by on 18th Jan 2018

I am self conscious and though I have wanted to study Tai Chi for a number of years I have never found the courage to even discuss it with my wife. Late last year I started to make a couple of enquires into local groups but always found an excuse to avoid committing to actually going.
Then by chance I came across the website for Dr Lam and after trying the free lessons for both beginners and arthritis I decided to purchase the beginners DVD as I am only 41 and do not have arthritis. It was awesome and I loved doing it!! So I was going to grab the 24 forms but there was something in the style of the arthritis lesson that had just captured me so I grabbed it instead. I am loving it, the pace and instructions are superb.
Thank you so much Dr Lam with out your free lessons and your marvellous dvds I doubt I would ever have experienced the joy I get from practicing Tai Chi.

Thankyou Dr Paul Lam for a fabulous resource. My students enjoy using this DVD for home practice. This DVD is particularly suited for those who want to continue learning at home to assist their current health. The DVD being used for Taichi home practice ensures Taichi acts as a preventative against further health issues. Our body, mind and spirit enjoy our TaiChi practice.
