Good to learn moves and practise at home

Posted by Susanne on 27th Jun 2016

I first saw Dr Lam's DVD's on the internet when I was searching for how to do Tai Chi. Before I purchased Tai Chi for Beginners, I began a class for older adults, in Tai Chi, and was happy when I discovered the teacher was using Dr Lam's DVD's in our lessons. So much easier to learn with our teacher and also being able to see Dr Lam's DVD's as we learn. I now put the DVD on daily, and practise at home as well as also attending my weekly class. I am extremely happy I decided to do Tai Chi, as I am not very physically active, and have found that I have much more energy and determination to move my body in a relaxed way. It is very calming on the mind and body, and very comfortable and quite easy to do. I intend to follow and practise Tai Chi as long as I am able, whether in classes or with Dr Lam's DVD at home. Most of my fellow students have been doing Tai Chi for years, using Dr Lam's DVD's and are quite elderly. I am 67, quite a few years younger than my class mates, however, I am enjoying their company, and am definitely making huge improvements in my flexibility and muscle strength. I also enjoy being able to watch and follow the DVD at home, at my leisure.

    Easy to Follow

Posted by Unknown on 27th Apr 2016

Having never done Tai Chi before, I find the DVD very easy to follow and Dr Lam's instructions are clear. I like the fact that you learn a new movement each lesson and you can practise it as many times as you like before moving onto the next lesson. Once you go to the next lesson, you can then practise previous movements as well as learning a new movement.

Easy to follow Tai Chi instructions

Posted by Angela on 26th Jan 2016

Thank you Dr Lam for explaining the moves slowly and clearly. The diagrams and having more than one person demonstrating assists in doing the exercises correctly. I used to think Tai Chi was just a gentle exercise for old people. Coming from a background of doing Rock Climbing, Abseiling and Classical Ballet I have found it is a good workout. It helps me to stretch and warm up so I can avoid injuries when doing fieldwork. Many research students complain about having a sore back and knees from sitting down all day. Doing Tai Chi helps me to concentrate when I'm studying and avoid tense muscles in the neck, shoulders and face which cause headaches. It's convenient to have these DVDs because I can do these exercises when it suits me.
