Tai Chi for Beginners video, DVD and handbook
Based on the most popular 24 Forms tai chi set, I have worked with my colleagues to creat an ideal system for beginners. It contains six easy steps including: warming up, Cooling down; Qigong and Fundamental exerices and a simple tai chi set. It will make learning tai chi easy and enjoyable, at the same time laying a good foundation for you to move on to the 24 Forms.

Dr. Lams dvds are truly wonderful.When I frist perchaced the benginners dvd, I didnt realize that it would be preparing me for the more advance dvds.The program must really be taking off,the best buy in my town cant seem to keep them on the shelf. If I can only find all these people,we can get something started here. Anyone who cant learn from these tapes,well!One day if Im forturnate enough to meet Dr. Lam,I would like to thank him in person for what hes done for me. (Dr.Lam why dont you ever come to the southern part of the U.S.)South Carolina in particular.This part of the U.S. needs you. Thank you, for what youve done for me and Im sure,for thounsands of others. I know you said to find an intructor if possible,but I feel as if you are right thire with me, you cant get a better intructor than that.

This is a brilliant video. I started Tai Chi lessons 6 weeks ago. I really enjoy it and was getting on quite well, but had trouble remembering certain bits plus I needed to 'polish up' my movements. I found it hard practising at home as I wasn't sure if I was doing it right.
I bought Dr. Lam's video and practised with it last week. At my class on Tuesday my instructor was really pleased with my progress. I seemed to have improved so much in just a week. I didn't let on that I'd used Dr. Lam's video! HeHeHe!!! I'd recommend this video/dvd to anyone just beginning to learn Tai Chi, it's so easy to follow. I shall definitely be buying more of Dr. Lam's videos/dvd's. Amanda ![]() |

Different from the 6 Forms, this video contains Dr. Lam's warmup exercises, based on classical qi gong, reeling silk and a mixture of various Tai Chi movements from different styles. Esp. when there is no instructor available, the 1 2 3 teaching and learning system for the warmup exercises starting from head to toe is easy to remember for someone who has not been studying and exercising for ages. Any other Yang posture is actually based in these 6 forms, including the long form and Cheng Man Ching.
My students have debilitating conditions, their age ranging from 55 - 85. There was an elderly couple who did not come to the Chen beginner's class regularly, but as they came into the last class, I asked whether they had been at a Tai Chi camp with a master. "Nope," they said,"we have bought Dr. Lam's Tai Chi for Beginners." Just to emphasize, these are CHEN students. I have a few other 24 forms students who have worked with the "Tai CHi for Beginners" as well. It is true that the movements are all shown very well on the 24 forms dvd, but on the Beginners dvd there are more repetitions which gives the viewer the feeling that they are participating in a real class. There is so much information for the instructors on how to improve their teaching skills, that I think this is a must-see for any prospective instructor. I am far from a novice instructor, but watching the dvd along with the handbook never makes me feel bored.

Dear Dr Lam my nane is keith about 8 yrs ago i fell 13 feet landed on the back of my head ended up with 5 rubtured disks in my back and head injurys and was un able to do much so i gained weight also with my head injury i am unable to stay in heat for very long i had givin up . and one day my said to me you should try tai-chi and gave me your dvd Tai Chi for Beginners well all i can say is thank you you see back in dec 2008 i was at my heaviest weight of 360 lbs and know 7 months later just got off the scale and i have lost 70 lbs and still getting smaller also i have alot more enegy and mental clarity i practice twice a day in the am and the pm any advice on which of your dvds would be the best one ? once again thank you dr lam you student keith west
