Smile Enjoy this DVD

It has been a few years since I took the Yang 24 Form class so I bought this DVD to help me review. I think Dr. Lam's instructions are clear and detailed. It didn't take long before I was able to do the entire form by memory.

I also enjoyed the qigong excercises, which I had no previous experience with.

Thank you Dr. Lam!

I studied the 6 form video and enjoyed it thoroughly. I'm now working on the 24 forms.

Dr. Lam, have you written down the directions of the feet for every position in the 24 forms? It that information available on your web site?

Thanks for your tremendous product!

direction

Another great reply from people who started working with the 6 forms and then continue with 24 forms. On the video Paul described the positions with the clock hands. For some people it could be confusing but it is not as difficult as one thinks. The starting position is 12 oclock or south. It is however secondary whether the angles are accurate or not, you will automatically feel uncomfortable when the angle is too large or small

12 o'clock The position where you start(south)
6" " of your back when you turn around(north)
9" Direction of your left hand(east)
10.30 " " half inbetween 9 and 12(south-east)
3" " right"(west)
4.30 " " half(45 inbetween 3 and 6)(south-west)
7.30 " between 6 and 9

I have purchased a few videos and dvds on the 24 form, but was unable to learn them well, as switching camera angles made it rather confusing. I was encouraged to buy one of Dr. Lam's dvds, so naturally I chose the twenty four forms. I couldnt have made a better decision... after studying it for four months, I was able to go over with my gung fu instructor. He commented that it looked like I had been practicing it for years!!! I cant wait to purchase the sun style next!

Thanks Dr. Lam!

Sincerely,
Ryan F

24 Forms

Dr. Lam:

I am new to Tai Chi and am relying upon your DVD's to learn. I am extremely pleased with your 24 Form program and will learn more in the future (48 Form, Sword, Sun).

Even though I have paid in full for your programs, I will always owe you a debt for giving me the opportunity to learn tai chi. Thank you.

I'd just like to add that I wholeheartedly agree with the above posts. I too am relatively new to Tai Chi and have found the 24 form DVD to be an indispensable aid to my supplementary training. Having trained in Karate for the past 3 years I'm finding that Tai Chi addresses aspects of my training in ways that the karate syllabus doesn't and as a consequence has enriched almost every facet of my training to enable me to become a better martial artist and a better person. Thankyou for the invaluable instruction,

Jop.

I have been following the 24 Forms DVD for several weeks and find the instructions to be clear and the DVD to be well organized and easy to navigate.

I think that in learning this practice from video without an instructor, one should be critical in evaluating his own progress. I found it easy to think I am doing things properly, then review the instruction and discover maybe not so good! I would have prefered to go with a teacher, but there is none in my town.

Also, most digital cameras these days have a movie mode so tape yourself and watch critically, and review the instructions often.

I can attest to the benefits of this simple pratice already, as after each session I feel noticably calmer, more centered and even better balanced. I notice an increased awareness of my body and the way it moves throughout the day.

Thank you Dr. Lam

Dr. Lam-

Thank you very much for your excellent instruction on your DVD. I have been a martial artist all of my life and studied many systems and many Qigong systems but very little Tai Chi Chuan. I ordered your 24 forms DVD and practiced for about a month. On a whim I went and competed in the U.S. National Martial Arts Tournament in Stafford, TX on Sept. 9. It was sponsored my the USA Chen Tai Chi organization. I placed third and recieved a Bronze medal in Tai Chi 24 forms competition. Before seeing your DVD, I had never seen the 24 forms and i did not know that one could compete in Tai Chi. You have opened up a new world to me. It was a great time and I learned a lot. Thanks again I am looking forward to many more of your products and maybe even a certification in my future. Take care and Smile.

Always,

Joseph

24 Forms DVD Reveiw

About three months ago I had a crazy idea of learning Tai Chi so
I looked around my town for instructors and when i could not find one I was disappointed.

But I found Dr Paul's website and spend days looking into it and finally ordered the 24 froms DVD.

At first i was like nah this wont work but after doing a Qi Gong session I was like man this is awsome and the sensation of chi was unreal so i keept on doing the Qi Gong momenets and learn the seven singal movments.

The steps are easy to learn and its the little things that Paul covers that make it so easy.

I now Study Sun Sytle Tai Chi and this 24 forms DVD even though its based on a different style its given me the perfect base to gain the form I have now

Thanks Doctor Paul

24 forms DVD

Hi... I just wanted to say that I watched Paul Lam's DVD on the 24 forms & I thought that it was really great. I enjoy the fact that it covers all of the basic principles of the mental aspect of focus and brings it out as a serious methods to improvement... though I must say also that it is great how it lightens things up towards the end and shows a happy side to things (possibly to grab interest for those who don't take things to seriously.) Anyway... It's a really nice DVD for learning the 24 forms.
