Hi to everyone who shared the Sydney Tai Chi course with Dr Lam in August.
Hope you are all practicing diligently, and still motivated to teach this wonderful form.
Actually, I havent got it together to start a class, but I did start putting some of the techniques into practice the next day at work!
The "how to teach" teaching session on the Sunday has proved really beneficial.
When instructing clients with exercises, I conciously make myself do the - step by step progressive learning
Watch me, follow me , show me.
The real challenge for me is the positive feedback sandwich. Its so easy just to pick faults in peoples technique, but much more difficult to praise and encourage the good bits.
Do others find this, or am I just a grumpy old critic?

Love to hear how others from the course are getting on
Ciao for now
Matt (private practice physio & TCM practitioner from Melbourne)

I also attended this workshop and although already teaching TCA, I learned a lot more about the evidence based benefits of Dr Lam's programs from the excellent team of allied health professionals and experienced tai chi teachers assisting him.
I see from Dr Lam's calendar that the workshop will be run again in Sydney in 2008 and would encourage any other physios or occupational therapists to read the recent newsletter articles by Rani Hughes (OT) and Wilfred Kwok (PT) and work toward attending the workshop. It is very worthwhile and the opportunity to network with other health professionals for support and ideas on how to integrate TC into your treatment programs is very valuable.
