Unlike other instructional Sword Form DVDs, Dr Lam's DVD is well structured and easy to follow. Everything is explained in detail, with front and back views. I only bought this DVD a couple of weeks ago, and am amazed at my progress!

I purchased Dr. Lam's 32 sword, I was thrilled with it, his instructions were easy to follow, and having both front and back view made it easier still, the more I practise, the better I feel, my balance has improved and I just feel "Happy". Tai chi 24 also helped me stay calm (practising it in my mind) whilst awaiting surgery.
Thank you! Dr. Lam.

For years I have wanted to learn Classical Tai Chi Sword but like so many others, I found it impossible to learn correctly from a book with still photos. My new Tai Chi teacher, knowing my determination, recommended Dr Lam's 32 Sword Form DVD as the best beginning platform. I'm now making excellent progress using the video as an essential revision backup and progressive learning aid. After my 24 form Tai Chi exercise, I follow up with practice of the 32 sword form both in class and at home. My joint flexibility, balance and posture comfort have increased immensely from the combination of empty hand and sword forms. This is a huge bonus for those like myself who have spinal and joint arthritis.

The 32 sword forms are Yang-derived Tai Chi forms for the Jian, or Straightsword. The series is aestetically very beautiful. In terms of difficulty, you definitely should have an empty-hand set first, but the athletic demands are not too great. There are a couple of postures which may need modification for some practitioners; in particular, one form involves crouching in a legs-crossed position. One of the strengths of this video is that various individuals demonstrate different sections, and it is possible to compare differences between how Dr. Lam performs the forms and a younger student executes the posture.
As always, the production standards are high, with good sound and image quality, and clear, well-paced instructions.
